Internet Explorer stores
.flv temp files in temporary folder when viewing YouTube. So it's easy to find a copy of that .flv file.
How about Google Chrome? Where does it store browsing temp data?

On Windows this is Google Chrome cache folder:
However:
Google Chrome cache technique is defensive!
Although you could use YouTube downloader program or manually retrieve the YouTube video direct download link to keep a copy of the video for your mom who only like to watch them on the classic TV + player set, you might need to use non-Google Chrome web browsers to retrieve the FLV files on some less popular video hosting sites, via the web browser cache folder technique.

On Windows XP:
you can also type John TJohn T
about:cache into your address bar to see cached files, as the names in the above directory aren't very helpful (data_0,data_1,f_00000a,f_00000a2,f_00000a3, etc..). When in about:cache you can right-click files and choose Save Link As.. which should use the cache as the source.

Depending on your configuration(s), Chrome may indeed store YouTube videos in the temp directory. However, they will be locked (i.e., cannot be opened or copied), as well as set so that they are automatically deleted when the lock is released (i.e., when the tab with the video is closed). You would need to first identify the correct file (this is easy if you observe the directory while the video is buffering because you can see the filesize growing). Then you can use Unlocker to save a copy of it.
Another, easier option is to simply use an extension like YousableTubeFix or YouTube Center.

Let's start on how did I find out.
1. Right-Click the Google Chrome Icon and Properties
2. Get the Target value (up to Chrome Folder only) and paste the following to windows explorer:
Windows Vista:
C:Users[USERNAME]AppDataLocalGoogleChrome
Windows XP:
C:Documents and Settings[USERNAME]Local SettingsApplication DataGoogleChrome
3. Now you will see the User Data Folder and From the name itself, you can say.. This is it!
4. Continue Browsing and open the Default Folder
C:Users[USERNAME]AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefault
Gotcha!(This is where the Bookmarks File is also located)

5. You know know the locations of the files and folders. Next step is knowing what are these files and what kind of database Google Chrome is using. Note: Close the Web browser (Google Chrome only) before applying the next steps. 6. If you already downloaded WinBubble and added the 'Open with Notepad' Context Menu. You can access these files easily. To Add the Right-Click Menu: Open WinBubble > General Tab > Add more options to Explorer's Context Menu (Right-Click Menu) Group > Click to Check 'Open with Notepad' and press 'Alt-A' or just click the Apply Button
7. Use the 'Open with Notepad' Context Menu to load the Web Data File
Yes! Although there are several ways to find out the database used, One of them is by downloading the Source code but as a Geek, this is the quickest one. Now we can say Google Chrome is using SQLite v3.

I was wondering if moving the cache folder in chrome(Win7x64) to a ramdisk drive will improve the performance of cached flash player files/games?If so, What would be the easiest way to do this? I'm assuming that I will have to move the folder, and then change the directory in chrome to point to the new folder location.I already created the Ram drive, and moved the Chrome Temp files to it successfully, but the flash files are not located in the chrome temp directory.Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks.

Testing is probably the best way to see if there is an improvement. To do that, run Chrome with the
--user-data-dir option specified at the command line with a subdirectory of your choosing that is on the ramdisk. Something like:
'C:Program Files (x86)GoogleChromeApplicationchrome.exe' --user-data-dir=r:test_account (assuming r: is your ramdisk) Website refused to connect chrome.
Then try one or more of your games. If that does improve speed (I'm not sure it will), you can try using that profile just for your games, or you can redirect the cache folder of your current profile to the ramdisk. To do the redirect:
Chrome should follow the symbolic link to the new folder.

At times you may face this glitch on your Google Chrome browser on Windows, where the connection status keeps on saying Waiting for cache on the bottom left side of the web browser in the Status bar. If you face this issue, here’s how to get rid of this annoying glitch with very straightforward methods.
Chrome browser is Waiting for cache…
There can be a number of causes for this issue. The browser profile or the cache files may have become corrupt, the SSD is occupied, or the files have fragmented. Here’s what you can do:
1] Clear Chrome cache
First of all, clear Temporary Internet, Cookies & other Cache files of Chrome and see if that helps.
To do this, open Chrome, press Ctrl+Shift+Del and delete all the cache files.
Restart Chrome and see.
2] Disable writing of Cache files to the SSD
You need to disable writing of Cache files to the SSD to stop the browser’s dependency on the SSD to gather all the cache files.
3] Recreate a new User Profile for Google Chrome
Kill every single process for Google Chrome from the Task Manager.
Next, navigate to the following location in Explorer-
C:Users<Your Username>AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefault
Press CTRL + A on your keyboard to select all the files inside of the location mentioned above.
Then press Shift + Delete to delete all these selected files permanently.
Now, open Google Chrome and create a new User Profile and then finally check if your issue is fixed.

4] Reset or Reinstall Google Chrome
To reset Chrome browser, make sure that Google Chrome is not running anywhere in the background using the Task Manager.
Now, hit the WINKEY + R combinations to open Run and then navigate to the following path,
%USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser Data
Now, select the folder named as Default and hit the Shift + Delete button combinations and then click on Yes for the confirmation prompt you get.
After deleting the Default folder, open Google Chrome and click on the Menu button denoted by three verticle dots in the top right corner.
Then, click on Settings. In the Settings section, scroll down and click on Advanced to reveal the Advanced Settings.
Now, scroll down to the Restore Settings to their original defaults button and click on it.
This will now give you a prompt like this-
Click on Reset, and this will reset your Google Chrome browser.

Now check if your issue is fixed or not.
And if all the methods that are mentioned above do not work properly, the last and the ultimate fix would be reinstalling Google Chrome. First, you will have to Uninstall Google Chrome fully from your computer. This should also include all the leftover folders with browsing data, user data, etc. Now, make sure you download the latest version of Google Chrome from its website here.
You are all set now!
